Why Anglers Choose the WMD The WMD was developed specifically for modern daytime swordfishing techniques using electric reels and heavy lead systems. Fishing 7-12 pounds of lead at depths exceeding 1,200 feet places tremendous strain on both tackle and angler. The WMD was engineered to manage those loads while maintaining the responsiveness needed to detect subtle bites and keep pressure on fish throughout the fight. Trusted by serious swordfishermen throughout South Florida and the Bahamas, the WMD has become a proven platform for anglers targeting broadbill swordfish in some of the most productive deepwater fisheries in the world.
